Massage Therapy
We all love to be pampered and our pets are no different. Let us give you a brief overview of our Massage Therapy and Acupressure programs that will make your pet feel special.
What is Dog Massage Therapy?
Canine massage is a therapeutic application of hands-on techniques to the muscle system to increase circulation, reduce muscle spasms, relieves tension, enhance muscle tone and increase range of motion in all breeds of dogs. Following a procedure, from start to finish, it pursues the healing and balancing of inner energy.
What is Acupressure?
The science of acupressure is based on the Taoist principles of harmony and dynamic balance of energy. Based on the theory that we all have a map and it surfaces on specific points that when pressure is applied to those points, it will have a healing effect.
Stimulation of Acupressure Points can release endophins, reduce pain, cause a relaxation effect, and bring fresh, oxygenated blood in to an ailing area flushing toxins and bringing nutrition rich blood where it is needed.
Acupressure is conjunctive and complimentary, and has to be combined with diet, environment, proper rearing and appropriate veterinary care.
Acupuncture vs. Acupressure
Acupuncture and Acupressure share the same concept - the former uses needles and the later only hands do the manipulating. Both practices are very useful on elder dogs, recovery from illness or surgery, long term or chronic disease, immune related disorders. In addition, both are used as a preventative treatment to maintain health and well being.
